Recently, Lead Hydrogen Intelligent (LHI), a specialist in core hydrogen process manufacturing and testing equipment, announced that its high-precision fuel cell coating machine, custom-developed for a globally leading integrated technology group, has successfully completed a rigorous acceptance test in Germany.

As China’s first catalytic coated membrane (CCM) coating machine for fuel cell applications exported to Germany, the project represents a breakthrough in delivering core hydrogen manufacturing equipment to the German market. Building on LHI’s established European delivery experience, this milestone marks the company’s first successful entry into Germany’s high-standard hydrogen equipment ecosystem.
The achievement not only demonstrates LHI’s enhanced technological capabilities and engineering service expertise, but also highlights the growing role of Chinese intelligent manufacturing in Europe’s advanced hydrogen equipment landscape.
The acceptance process was jointly conducted by the customer and German third-party certification experts, following stringent German industrial standards. The assessment covered a comprehensive range of criteria, including key performance indicators, component installation precision, and long-term operational stability. Even the smallest details, such as the compatibility of individual fasteners, were subject to inspection.
The equipment successfully passed the acceptance test with outstanding results, becoming the highest-rated project delivered at the customer’s site to date.
“This represents the highest-quality delivery and service we have witnessed throughout our decades of professional experience,” said the customer’s project leader. The customer’s team further described the equipment’s stable and precise operation as “a perfect performance of engineering excellence.”
The successful acceptance validates that LHI’s advanced equipment fully meets Europe’s demanding industrial requirements, while demonstrating the global competitiveness of China’s core hydrogen manufacturing technologies.
The customer’s recognition is built on four key technologies developed by LHI, precisely addressing the challenges of high-end hydrogen equipment manufacturing:
The coating and drying chamber maintains oxygen concentration below 0.05% over extended operation, preventing oxidation defects during the coating process. This ensures superior coating consistency while improving product yield and service life.
By optimizing slurry delivery pipelines and recovery systems, LHI minimizes material residue at the source, reducing the waste of costly precious-metal catalyst slurry by 40%. This helps customers lower raw material costs while advancing more sustainable manufacturing practices.
Integrating multiple coating modules with rapid changeover and intelligent switching systems, the equipment supports various product widths and production requirements. It enables cathode and anode slurry switching within minutes, providing strong support for customers’ flexible manufacturing strategies.
The system adopts an innovative inert gas-protected drying process combined with localized waste heat recovery. While ensuring zero oxidation during drying, the solution reduces production energy consumption by more than 50%, delivering dual optimization in product quality and operating costs.
This milestone in the European market represents a concentrated demonstration of LHI’s international service capabilities and technological strength.
Guided by a customer-centric philosophy, LHI customized the entire solution around the demanding process requirements and compliance standards of its German customer. From fundamental design to equipment construction, every stage was implemented through meticulous process control and efficient cross-cultural collaboration, establishing a strong foundation for project quality.
To date, LHI has developed a comprehensive hydrogen equipment portfolio covering core manufacturing processes and testing platforms for PEM electrolyzers and fuel cell systems. The company has accumulated extensive experience in meeting international certification requirements, including TÜV, CE, and IEC standards. With a global service network spanning Europe, Australia, North America, and other major hydrogen markets, LHI provides full-lifecycle technical support to customers worldwide.
Looking ahead, LHI will continue to accelerate international expansion through technological innovation and deeper engagement with high-standard global markets.
Together with partners across the hydrogen value chain, LHI aims to overcome the technological and commercial barriers to large-scale hydrogen adoption and contribute to the global transition toward a cleaner energy future.
